Sunshine on the Brain

06 February 2017
Getting out and about in the sunshine can have some important benefits for the brain.

UV light absorbed through the skin is the body’s primary natural source of Vitamin D, which is vital for producing serotonin, also known as ‘the happiness hormone’. Lower vitamin D levels have also been associated with cognitive impairment, meaning poor performance in cognitive tests that involve numbers, decision making and attention, proving that sunlight can make you smarter!

Studies also show that endorphins are released during sun exposure. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and soak it up!
